Click on the blue “contact me” button or click on this link. Let me know if your preference is a text message or an email. I will be glad to schedule a short introductory phone call if you would like this.
Prior to your first visit, I will send you an email with an invitation to my client portal. You can complete all your new client paperwork in the portal—there is no actual paper involved. In your first session, we will go over some of the administrative information and then the majority of the time is you having an opportunity to tell your story and help me get to know you. Part of trauma-informed care is that you don’t tell all the hard things about your story in the first session. It is important to establish safety first before you share the parts of your story that were traumatic. At the end of the first session, we will make a plan for what would be helpful for you going forward and schedule another appointment if that is what you choose to do.
Most of my sessions are in person in my Watkinsville, GA office, but some clients prefer virtual sessions. You can choose what works best for you.
I am licensed in Georgia for both in person and virtual sessions and in South Carolina for virtual sessions only.
At in person sessions, I ask my clients to text me when they arrive and to wait outside in their vehicle or on the sidewalk instead of the waiting area inside. I’ll come out to greet you and bring you into the office. Clients are welcome to come inside and use the restroom and get some water or hot tea. I like this setup because it helps with privacy and also, I get a chance to come outside between each client and get some fresh air and a neurochemical reset!
This just depends on what you need and what fits with your life. This is something we discuss in the first session and revisit along the way as needed.
I charge $130 per 50-minute session. I do not take health insurance, but I do take HSA/FSA cards if you have one. I accept most all forms of credit/debit cards, checks, and cash. I offer discounts to clients in ministry.
I don’t file insurance claims, but I can give you a superbill so that you can file with your insurance company. I am considered an out of network provider.
Trauma-informed care shifts the focus from “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?” More info about trauma-informed care »
